Donald Trump says US not ready to do business with Huawei yet

As launched the Developers Conference (HDC) in China a few days ago, US President Donald Trump has stated that the US is not yet ready to do with Huawei yet.

“We are not going to do business with Huawei. … And I really made the decision. It’s much simpler not doing any business with Huawei. … That doesn’t mean we won’t agree to something if and when we make a trade deal,” said Donald Trump, United States of America President

Reports stated that the Commerce Department is still processing special licenses for companies to restart sales to Huawei.

“We are talking to China; we are not ready to make a deal, but we’ll see what happens … China wants to do something, but I’m not doing anything yet. Twenty-five years of abuse. I’m not ready so fast,”

Trump’s comments; however, is said to only refer to the ban of the U.S. government buying from Huawei.

Last May 2019, the U.S. president ordered U.S. companies such as Google to not provide Huawei its technology. Shortly after, the government lifted this ban for 90-days which gave a temporary license to Huawei to purchase technology from U.S. companies.

Trump ended the cease-fire with China last week by announcing 10% tariffs on USD 300 Billion worth of Chinese goods.
