Bungie Responds to Player Issues with Destiny 2 Online Store

Bungie, the studio behind Destiny 2, has officially responded to an accusation of false advertising and has begun rectifying the errors. has long been the one-stop shop for custom official merchandise and an additional avenue for players to show their support for the games they feel passionate about. However, recent incidents reported by disgruntled customers have raised serious concerns over the studio-operated digital storefront as Bungie deals with ongoing Destiny 2 issues.

Since its inception, the Bungie Store and its many offerings have been quite popular among fans. The digital storefront functions in sync with in-game progression, allowing players to reap special rewards such as unique raid jackets or custom-made pins by completing specific in-game challenges, such as clearing a newly released Destiny 2 raid or dungeon in the initial launch window.

Players such as Lonecard19, however, have found out that items advertised in pictures can sometimes be misleading. In a post to the official Destiny subreddit, Lonecard19 explained how the Trials of Osiris-themed sweatshirt ordered from the Bungie Store looked nothing like the pictures on the storefront. The user explained that while the official photo showcased a sweatshirt with patterned sleeves in the Trials-specific golden hue, the received product only sports several symbols of the Destiny 2 game mode and no other decorations. Bungie, via the official Destiny2Team Reddit account, responded in the comment section that the studio is contacting the affected customers, offering them full refunds and discount codes for future purchases.

The comment also states that every item and the related advertisement material will be updated to reflect the final product on the storefront. Several players have expressed their relief over such discrepancies being addressed hastily but have said that Bungie Store’s problems have been longstanding, stretching back years in several cases. Some players have also accused Bungie’s customer support of being lackluster, often giving unhelpful responses or offering total silence in some cases. As Bungie moves on to developing Marathon alongside Destiny 2, some fans may still be concerned about the storefront.

However, the prompt acknowledgment and subsequent corrective actions prove Bungie’s dedication to maintaining transparency with its fans. As the studio prepares to launch a massive mid-Season 21 patch for Destiny 2 and the much-awaited Solstice of Heroes event, players can hope for a better future for the game they have come to love.

Destiny 2 is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
