Fortnite Buffing Healing Item to Be More Useful | Gaming
Epic Games is constantly making tweaks and adjustments to its insanely popular game Fortnite. Yesterday, Fortnite Design Lead Eric Williamson confirmed via Reddit and Twitter that one healing item in the game, Slurp Juice, will be receiving a moderate buff when update 5.1.0 goes live.
As it stands now, Slurp Juice grants one health and one shield per second for 25 seconds, capping out at a maximum of 25 health and shield. While this is great for players looking to recover a bit of health and shields, it isn't very helpful at recovering a large chunk of health after a bout against another player. The announcement game in a Reddit thread where one Fortnite fan was offering a suggestion for how to improve Slurp Juice. Williamson responded, saying that they were already making adjustments.
Slurp's up. Moderate buff to Slurp Juice in 5.10! https://t.co/tr9Ua78kBi

When 5.1.0 goes live, Slurp Juice will instead give 75 points, prioritizing health first. So if a player is down 75 hit points, it will heal them to full but grant no shield. However, if a player is only down 25 health, it will grant the 25 health back and then 50 shield. Players at full health will generate 75 shield. Update 5.1.0 may also add a compact SMG to the game, giving players even more options when engaging against others at close range.
Aside from update 5.1.0, it's a pretty big week for Fortnite fans. This week is the one year anniversary of the launch of the game. Epic Games announced that there will be a special in-game event kicking off on July 24, for both Battle Royale and Save the World modes. The event runs until August 7, which gives players plenty of time to collect some exclusive loot as part of the celebration.
The popular Playground mode will also be making a comeback this week, returning to the game on July 25. Playground mode will feature new changes based on the feedback from the last run of the event. More details on those changes will be available when Epic Games releases the patch notes for the 5.1.0 update. Regardless of what players are most excited for, it will certainly be an interesting week in Fortnite.
Fortnite is available now in early access on iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
