Another Thursday has arrived, but unfortunately, Year 5 Chapter 3 still has yet to be added to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. While fans are still waiting for the new story content, though, Jam City has added a special Halloween-themed in-game event that will last for four days and gives them the opportunity to unlock some exclusive content.
The Halloween event (spelled Hallowe’en in-game) in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is called Fresh Off the Vine, and it sees players helping Dumbledore with preparing Hogwarts for the holiday. The event is similar to past events in that players are still primarily completing classes with full stars in exchange for crests that fill up a meter in exchange for tiered rewards, but it’s different in that attending classes isn’t the only way players can earn crests.
The Halloween event in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery lets players get crests for helping Dumbledore with the decorations, which is treated as a side quest in the game. This side quest plays out exactly like a 3-star class does, with players tapping on things and then tracing shapes. If players fully complete the side quest, they will get four crests toward the 58 they will need if they hope to unlock all of the Halloween event’s prizes.
The prizes for the Halloween event in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery are as follows.
- 250 coins (six crests)
- 500 coins (10 crests)
- 3 notebooks (24 crests)
- Halloween cosmetic (44 crests)
- 7 notebooks (58 crests)
Some fans who haven’t been paying close attention to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery‘s latest updates may be curious as to what the notebooks are. As it turns out, notebooks are a new kind of currency that are used to adopt magical pets and purchase some specific pet looks. If players fully complete this event, they will have a total of 10 notebooks to their name that could then be used to purchase a single pet look. Anyone that wants to adopt the magical pets will have to save up 50 notebooks for just one of them, so they will want to make sure they complete as much of the Halloween event as possible.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
