Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery – Every Animagus Form | Gaming News
The perfect source for gaming uptodate news
Just recently, Jam City added the Animagus event to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, giving fans the chance to actually transform into an animal in the game. Now that players are finishing the limited-time side quest, it’s becoming more apparent what becoming an Animagus actually entails, including all the different forms players have to choose from.
At two different points during the Animagus side quest, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players are asked what kind of animal they’d turn into if given the choice. Ravenclaw student Talbott Winger asks them first, and then Penny Haywood asks them second. It seems as though whatever animal players select when Penny asks them is the one they will turn into, so players can (probably) answer any way they’d like when speaking with Talbott.
When transforming into an animal in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, players have three different animals to choose from: a cat, a dog, or a bird. Developer Jam City has released artwork of what these different animal forms look like, so players can take a look at all of them below.

The appearance of the player character doesn’t seem to have any effect on the look of the animals, so players can base their Animagus choice on the artwork to determine which animal they’ll want to transform into. However, before players get too excited about becoming an Animagus in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, they should note that they are unable to transform into an animal at will at the time of this writing.
Besides XP, coins, and gems, the only real reward players get from completing the Animagus event is an achievement that can be found in the Year 3 section of classes. They can’t actually turn into an animal outside of scripted story events, but hopefully Jam City makes it possible to use one’s Animagus abilities at will in the future.
In the meantime, it will be interesting to see how being an Animagus impacts the story for those who have completed the quest versus those who lack the ability. It’s been said by characters in the game that being an Animagus will make it easier for the player character to find the Cursed Vaults and solve the mystery of their missing brother Jacob, so fans should stay tuned.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
