Malaysian gamers can play ‘Final Fantasy VII’ by March 3, 2020

The remake of Final Fantasy VII, announced four years ago, is finally on sale and expected to be available in Malaysia by March 3 next year.

Square Enix confirmed the release date in a press release, revealing the game is available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store and compatible with the PlayStation 4 console.

For Malaysian markets, the standard digital pre-order costs RM229, while the Deluxe Edition digital pre-order is priced at RM334.

Both pre-orders come with a bonus for early birds, in the form of a Choco Chic Summon Materia and the Dynamic Theme for PS4. A Summon Materia is a special item that lets players summon creatures and monsters often familiar mascots of the game that unleash powerful effects to help during a battle.

The Deluxe Edition also comes with a digital artbook and Mini-Soundtrack, plus Cactuar and Carbuncle Summon Materias.

The Verge reports that the remake features a revamped, dynamic battle system that is a hybrid of real-time action and strategy-based combat, similar to the latest editions of Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy XV.

During a press conference at E3 2019, game maker Square Enix showed more details at the game’s combat system and debuted remake versions of characters from the original game, Tifa and Sephiroth.

First announced in 2015, Square Enix has revealed little about the project beyond that it will be a multi-part series, with the first part being set in Midgar, where the original game’s opening is set.
