World of Warcraft Mod Creator Receives Care Package from Blizzard | Gaming News

The sole developer of popular and long-running World of Warcraft mod “Deadly Boss Mods,” Adam Williams, recently took to his blog to explain a rough financial situation that could have forced him to abandon/cut down on support for the mod going forward. But things appear to be looking up, as Wlliams explained that his Patreon had gotten a massive boost and Blizzard teamed up with MSI to give him a considerable care package.
The items Williams received amounted to an entirely new PC setup including a fully-stocked computer, a brand new monitor, a new pair of headphones, and a slick new keyboard. Additionally, a letter came with the package explaining just how much Williams’ work has meant to the World of Warcraft community.
Blizzard’s letter read, in part:
“We want to thank you for all the hard work you’ve put into DeadlyBossMods over the years, as well as for your passion for helping the raiders learn boss fights and mechanics and the WoW community in general. You’ve lowered the barrier for some of the most difficult fights for newer players and we love your passion for it. We hope that this small token of our appreciation takes a little stress off your shoulders.”
The letter ends with a general “thank you” message, wishing Williams the best and asking him to send Blizzard’s well wishes to his mother.
The gift was topped off with the collector’s edition of Battle for Azeroth, signed by several key members of Blizzard. The collector’s edition comes with the game, the soundtrack, a double-sided emblem for the Horde and Alliance, and a double-sided hardcover book that contains two novellas from the perspectives of two different characters.
At the time of writing, Deadly Boss Mods has 3,327 patrons on Patreon, and has reached the final stretch goal of funding which simply says “With this, I can stuff my mattress with 100 dollar bills and have a computer chair made out of gold.”
World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is available now on PC.
