Facebook launched a new app user data will pay you money
Facebook has launched a new app that tracks your user data and will pay you money for it. The app, ‘Study From Facebook’ will track its users’ data as to how they use their phone and will pay them in return.
This app is a new marketing research tool that will track broad usage behavior including the installed apps, location, usage times, network, and device. Facebook claims that it will use this metadata in pinpointing the apps preferred by users with a goal of improving its own products.
The company has run new target ads to recruit users. The users will be asked to verify their age and personal details, after confirmation, the company will let the user download the Study app and log in with their details.
During the setup process, the app will again inform you about the data it collects and the way it will be used. Participants will also be required to provide their PayPal account that will be used for payment. However, the company has not yet announced the exact compensation yet.
The app will periodically remind the users that they are part of the Study program. The users can leave the program whenever they want to. All they have to do is uninstall the app and inform Facebook that they are withdrawing their participation.
In the initial phase, Study will be exclusive for Android users in the US and India. Facebook claims that it will introduce improvements over time and expand the app’s reach to more countries in the coming months.
