‘99% Invisible’ unveils the everyday around you | Tips & Tricks

How much of the world around you do you notice? I mean really notice, like design, architecture and the sights and sounds?

It’s easy to let these things fade into the background, but if you do, then you’re missing some amazing stories. Here’s a podcast that wants to get you reconnected with the everyday.

“99% ” focuses each podcast on an a single topic or specific example of design, with input from architects, experts and design aficionados.

The title comes from a quote by architect Buckminster Fuller: “Ninety-nine percent of who you are is invisible and untouchable.” This podcast tries to make that 99 percent visible again.

Look around you

Recent podcasts addressed the camouflaged oil derricks in Los Angeles, the graphics of Apple’s early computers, how specially printed paperbacks raised the spirits of soldiers in WWII, and a look at the Interrobang, that punctuation that’s half question mark, half exclamation point.

“99% Invisible” is available on Google Play, iTunes, Radio Public, or by RSS feed.
