So, where ARE are all the home robots?
The short answer is that Big Tech is throwing big money into robot projects.
Very quietly, in the labs of Alphabet and Google, and Chinese electronic giant Huawei, engineers are secretly working on home robots. Not those quirky toy-like devices you’ve seen. Big Tech is aiming for the “human-shaped, Android style robot that talks and interacts with members of your home – like the one played by Robin Williams in the 1999 Hollywood film “Bicentennial Man.”
