Android gaming is getting bigger and better every month it seems and there is always a slew of new titles coming to Google Play. Whether you're a casual gamer or you want something with a bit more meat on its bones, there's usually a game coming out to suit everyone's taste. Some months are better than others, but there is usually at least one great new game on mobile every month. Let's take a look at the best new Android from the last month! You can watch the videos on YouTube from previous months by clicking here! You can also check out our picks for the best new Android games for 2017 in the video above!

Alto's Odyssey

Price: Freemium

Alto's Odyssey is among the best time killers of 2018. It follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, Alto's Adventure. It's a 2D runner with some neat little mechanics. You also get smooth, colorful graphics and some other stuff as well. The game also includes 180 challenges, a Zen Mode (with its own soundtrack, no less), and a screenshot camera feature. Don't expect depth. It is a time killer, after all. However, this is definitely among the best in its genre, no doubt about it.

Asphalt 9: Legends

Price: Freemium

Asphalt 9: Legends is the next game in the popular arcade racing franchise.. This one features many of the same mechanics and graphical prowess that made the series popular. This one comes with 50 vehicles, various game modes, a club feature for playing with friends, and more. Of course, that also comes with a lengthy campaign mode and weekly events. It's a freemium game and Asphalt has an aggressive freemium strategy. Otherwise, the game is pretty good.

Brawl Stars

Price: Freemium

Brawl Stars is the next game from Supercell. It saw a limited launch in July (follow the link at the button). This is a battle royale game similar to PUBG or Fortnite. However, this one doesn't have the same shooter mechanics. You move around the map beating up on your opponents. It includes single player and multiplayer modes. There are also various brawlers to upgrade and unlock. This is a neat little hybrid between battle royale and MOBA as it has elements of both. It's a freemium game like most of Supercell's games. However, the strategy isn't as aggressive as some other games.

Epic Skater 2

Price: Freemium

Epic Skater 2 is one of two new skateboard games this month. The other is Nyjah Huston #SkateLife. Both are pretty decent. Nyjah Huston #SkateLife has less creativity but better graphics. Epic Skater 2 has more creativity, but less modern graphics. Choose your poison from there. We consider Epic Skater 2 the better game. It features a create-a-skater feature, a bunch of gear, a career mode, and a bunch of tricks. Both games are freemium, though, so that's not great. Epic Skater 2 is an above average skateboard game.

Faraway 3: Arctic Escape

Price: Free / $2.99

Faraway 3: Arctic Escape is the third installment of the popular puzzle game franchise. This one includes similar graphics, but with a winter theme this time. The game includes 18 levels with a variety of puzzles in each level. You can also take screenshots in the game for future use in other puzzles. The graphics and game play is super laid back. Those who like heart pumping action may need to look elsewhere. This, however, is actually a good puzzle game. The first nine puzzles are free. You have to pay the $2.99 for the full game after that.

Life is Strange

Price: Free / Up to $8.99

Life is Strange is Square Enix's port of the popular console game. You play as Max Caufield and you can rewind time in small bursts. You play through the game, rewinding time to replay various portions of the game as needed. The story revolves around a high school and some bad things happening there. It also features really good graphics, multiple endings, and a decent soundtrack. It's an episodic adventure, similar to Telltale Games titles. Thus, the game gets fairly expensive. There are also some bugs with the game right now. We recommend waiting a bit for the bugs to get sorted. Otherwise, this may be among the best of the year.

Pokémon Quest

Price: Freemium

Pokémon Quest is the latest official Pokémon game. This one is also available on the Nintendo Switch. You befriend a team of Pokémon and look for treasure around the world. The game also comes with some customizations, a base camp mechanic, and more. It's a fun little time killer with a Pokémon theme. It's also a freemium game for what it's worth. The game is definitely not bad, but don't expect the depth of a game like Pokémon Go or the handheld Pokémon games.

Pokémon Quest

Shin Megami Tensei Liberation Dx2

Price: Freemium

Shin Megami Tensei Liberation Dx2 is a mouthful. It's also a fairly decent mobile jRPG. It's similar to other mobile jRPGs. That includes turn based combat, a gacha (character collecting) element, weekly events, and a long campaign mode. Fans of the genre and of the legendary Shin Megami Tensei franchise should enjoy their experience with this one, at least for a while. The freemium elements keep it from being a truly great addition to the franchise. However, that's true most of the time with these sorts of games. It's above average for what it is.

The Walking Dead: Our World

Price: Freemium

The Walking Dead: Our World is an AR game similar to Pokemon Go. You traverse the real world looking for various points of interest. The player must also survive the zombie horde. It includes a gacha elements (character collecting), weekly challenges, and even some cooperative events with other real players. It likely won't amass the viral quality of Pokemon Go. However, it's a decent enough presentation. There are some bugs here and there, but nothing too serious. We expect developers to have this in tip-top shape within the next couple of months.

World of Tennis: Roaring '20s

Price: Freemium

World of Tennis: Roaring '20s is a rare new tennis game. It's also surprisingly above average. The game takes place in the 1920's. Thus, it has an old feel to it. The costumes and character design show this especially well. The game also includes decent (if somewhat difficult) game mechanics, online multiplayer, seven characters, leaderboards, and more. This is easily one of the best tennis games on Android. However, to be fair, tennis games aren't exactly a rocking genre to begin with. Anyway, aside from the freemium elements, this is a good game.
