Get Android 9.0 Pie factory and OTA images for Pixel devices now | Apps & Software
Google surprised us all with the full stable launch of Android 9.0 today, also revealing the flavor of this Android version in the process: Pie.
This means that if you own a Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL, Google Pixel 2, or Google Pixel 2 XL, you can download factory and OTA images of Android 9.0 Pie.
To get the factory images for your Pixel device, click here. To get the OTA images for your Pixel device, click here.
The factory image will wipe your device so when you reboot you will be on a fresh, brand new install of Android 9.0 Pie, while the OTA will simply update your current system to the latest stable version of Android.
Both the factory and the OTA also contain the latest Android security patches for August 2018.
If you don’t want to go through the hassle of manually sideloading your Pie update, you can always just wait until the OTA shows up on your Pixel device sometime within the next 24 hours or so. My Pixel 2 XL already is downloading the OTA, so you probably won’t have to wait long:
Android 9.0 Pie brings a wealth of new features to Android including gesture support, adaptive battery, and new security and privacy features. There is also a beta of the new Digital Wellbeing app that you can sign up for by clicking here.
