iOS 14.7.1 Update Urgent Security Fixes for iOS Devices

According to the reports, the same was found in macOS Big Sur 11.5, and it is now fixed with macOS Big Sur 11.5.1 update.

For iPhone users, the iOS 14.7.1 update fixes the flaw in that had an issue with Unlock With iPhone feature. At the same time, iPhone and iPad users had flaws like signal issues, Apple Music bugs, and playback issues.

The iOS 14.7 also brings a new functionality called Card Family, and Apple Podcasts got some improvements.

According to the Immersive Lab's SME app security lead, Sean Wright says, it looks like Apple has not fixed the iMessage vulnerability in iOS 14.7.1. Apple has provided few details on security fixes and says the update does not include all of them. iOS 14.7.1 is the latest multiple iPhone update of this year.

How to Update iOS Device to iOS 14.7.1 Update?

Don't wait for update notification; just update your device manually to the latest software.

For iPhone and iPad devices:

  • Open your device and go to Settings >> General >> Software Update and select version 14.7.1

For MacBook or Desktop:

  • Go to Apple Menu >> System Preferences >> Software Update. Select version 11.5.1

Apple announced,

“An application may be able to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited”.

On July 26th, Apple announced a few information on the patch covering iOS 14.7.1, iPad OS 14.7.1, and macOS Big Sur 11.5.
