Samsung supposedly teased its foldable phone reveal date in this low-key tweet | Apps

It looks like Samsung is getting ready to show off its foldable phone, according to a news report that’s based on a Samsung tweet.
We already knew Samsung planned to unveil its foldable smartphone sometime this year, as the CEO of its mobile division has said that in the past, though subsequent reports claimed it would only be a prototype foldable phone. Now, The Verge has dug up a remarkably unnoticeable Samsung tweet published late last week, and described the tweet as teasing the “big reveal” date of the phone — “or at least a prototype version of it”.
The Verge noted the tweet shows a “subtle graphic of two lines unfolding into a right-facing arrow”, which we’re led to believe is a tease for a foldable phone. The tweet itself is about the Samsung Developer Conference, which starts 7 November, and says it’ll be “the crossroads between the present and the future”.

If Samsung does plan to unveil a prototype foldable phone, that would be the ideal place to do it. It is a developer conference, after all.
It’s a great time to give developers the information and tools they need to create new experiences for such a form factor in preparation of the device’s launch, if Samsung actually intends to release it. But Samsung hasn’t confirmed it plans to do that. We just know the phone is coming, and we have a super subtle tweet that may or may not tease a foldable phone.
If we had to take a guess, yes, it’s probably coming. Others clearly seems to think so, too. But don’t expect a finished device you can buy.
