Singapore-based classifieds marketplace Carousell has announced it will offer 350 meet-up in the Philippines for to conduct deals, as part of a new partnership with logistics solutions provider Xend.

These meet-up spots will be located at Xend’s “pick-up and drop-off” (PUDO) hubs, which are spread across are spread across Metro Manila (16 cities including the capital Manila, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Pasig, Quezon, San Juan, Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela, Las Pinas, Makati, Muntinlupa, Paranaque, Pasay, Taguig and 1 municipality, Pateros) and the adjacent provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, and Bulacan.

Xend also said that convenience store franchise 7-11, one of its strategic partners, would “possibly” take part in the deal.

Jamie Lee, Carousell’s Senior Manager for Growth Markets, said that the company has been receiving requests by Philippine users to provide shipping services. “We are excited to work with Xend to make buying and selling more convenient… With this strategic partnership, we hope to create more value for our community and deepen our presence in the Philippines,” he said.

A press release stated that the deal will also offer preferential privileges to Carousell users who use Xend to have their sold items delivered. For example, it is mounting a one-year free shipping campaign for Carousell users who meet a certain sold listing-and-shipped volume. Additionally, for every 5 Carousell items shipped on a Saturday, 2 parcels will have their shipping fees waived.

Both companies will also launch co-branded promotions in each others’ channels, both online and offline.

Carousell has over 9.5 million listings on the Philippines marketplace, with fashion and beauty being the most popular categories among its users in the country.

Xend currently has over 500,000 users in its database. The company has a 6,000-strong integrated land and sea logistics network with PhilTranco, FastCat, Jam Liner, Ceres, and Quick Reliable, and provides a Facebook Messenger booking bot.

Carousell first launched its meet-up spots in Singapore, its home market, in May this year.
