Celcom partners with Malaysia-based digital health platform DoctorOnCall

, the oldest mobile telecommunication provider in Malaysia, a member of the Axiata group of companies, has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DoctorOnCall, a healthcare platform by Digital Technologies Sdn. Bhd.


The partnership will look to explore innovations in the digital space such as embedding DoctorOnCall plan(s) into Celcom digital offerings such as Business Suite for Retail. Celcom will work together with DoctorOnCall, towards the potential of developing innovative healthcare and workplace offerings to its clients.

DoctorOnCall.com.my, which was established in 2017, is Malaysia's largest digital health platform that connects patients with an extensive network of over 1,500 Specialists in private hospitals and more than 100 GP doctors throughout the country. Patients located anywhere in Malaysia are able to speak to doctors with just a private chat, phone or video call. They are also able to order and receive prescription drugs safely and promptly through the platform.

In the wake of tackling the threat of COVID-19, Malaysia's Ministry of Health has also recently partnered with DoctorOnCall to establish a virtual health advisory portal to address the growing number of public queries on the coronavirus and to correct misinformation, according to a report by the Borneo Post.


“We are keen to explore and develop our digital aspirations in creating a sustainable digital ecosystem that is able to address the ever-evolving digital lifestyle of Malaysians, which includes healthcare needs,” said Azlan Zainal Abidin, Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Celcom in a statement.
