Digi launches Ibadat app for Muslims

Digi has launched a mobile app, Ibadat, to help Muslims fulfil their daily religious responsibilities.

Ibadat features information such as prayer times, location of nearby mosques, the Holy Quran with audio recordings, and a compass to help users determine the location of Qibla.

The app, which is only available for Android, bases its prayer times on the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim).

The app also include premium content – for 50sen per week or RM1.50 per month, users will be able to access features such as Azan Alert, a collection of Doas or prayers, Zakat calculator and Ramadan calendar with the timing for Iftar.

According to a press statement, premium users will also get to view live videos of the annual Hajj in Mecca and Medina during the month of Zulhijjah.

It even includes a guide for Islamic baby names.

The app requires access to your location, media files and notifications settings to function, and to subscribe to the premium content, you will have to send an SMS to Digi.
