Digital reality technology to accelerate development

In the WIR Tech Outlook at the annual DISRUPTO 2019 festival, the WIR Group said that digital reality is a strategy to develop and transform infrastructure in Indonesia. WIR Group has several business sub-units, namely augmented reality content developer AR & Co, augmented reality devices DAV, virtual network store Mindstores and location-based AR games Minar.

The WIR Group, which applies fundamental principles to its operations, is confident that digital reality will propel development in various sectors, especially for companies willing to adapt and transform in the digital age.

The retail industry, meanwhile, is among the fastest growing in Indonesia. The retail sector is expected to increase its IT budget by 17 percent annually until 2021, according to an American provider of market intelligence, the International Data Corporation (IDC), making it one of the fastest-growing sectors for technology spending in Indonesia.

As more consumers want personalized experiences, companies have to start looking for solutions to cater to demand and find a key to business growth in the digital era. IDC estimates that the retail sector will prioritize digital transformation to improve its business operations, focusing on customer engagement and consumer shopping references.

Digital reality technology, furthermore, is applicable and relevant for many sectors, such as financial technology, health, agriculture, transportation and information services.

This year, DISRUPTO explores the theme of “The Future of Humanity”, highlighting the importance of technology for those living in urban and rural areas. The event also sought to highlight that technological developments can go hand in hand with humanity.
