Ministry in talks with industry, Socoe to digitise Sarawak tourism | Digital Asia
- Time is of the essence given Visit Sarawak year 2019
- Socoe solution would add value to all levels of business in the tourism sector
SARAWAK Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports (MTACYS) held joint talks with Sarawak Tourism Federation (STF), Sarawak Association of Tourism Attractions (Sata) and Socoe to initiate the digital transformation of tourism including Visit Sarawak 2019.
Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah met with industry players STF chairman Phillip Yong, Sata president Fiona Marcus Raja and others to consolidate an effective solution that would add value to all levels of business in the tourism sector. The solution explored was presented by Socoe Technologies led by CEO Sam Wong and his team.
Karim is eager to create impactful change in the tourism sector, and recognises the importance of working closely with industry leaders in order to realise the visions and goals of the ministry and government as a whole.
Socoe’s solution and technology adds value at all levels – Government to Business (G2B), Business to Business (B2B) as well as Business to Consumer (B2C) – which are in line with the Ministry’s objectives. An important benefit to Socoe’s solution is its ability to be implemented immediately, as a result of forward planning and investments. This makes it highly beneficial and cost effective to the Ministry as time is of the essence given Visit Sarawak year 2019.
Socoe had previously enabled Sarawak Lorries Transport Association, comprising of 475 companies, to go digital within a month with their high level of delivery efficacy and platform capability.
