The Dutch-based health firm, VSY Biotechnology, has two patents for inventions in the eye health sector, the company announced on Friday.

The two patents included a preloaded injector and a new packing type of intra-ocular lenses, the firm said in a press release.

The ready-to-use “rotary jet preloaded injector” enables easy, quick, and safe injection, and implantation of intraocular lenses during cataract operations,” the firm said.

The injector is offered with a different “diopter range” depending on the choice of an ophthalmologist, and it aims to reduce the rate of human-induced errors during preparations and shorten operation time, the firm added.

Meanwhile, the company said the new packing of intra-ocular lenses, produced with a biocompatible material, has strong sterilization characteristics.

The “enhanced biocompatible packing system: Vial system opened by breaking” brings sterilization effect to the forefront in intro-ocular lenses, it said.

The firm highlighted: “The one-piece packing system produced by a single biocompatible material helps ophthalmologists use intra-ocular lenses easily and safely”.

VSY Biotechnology CEO Ozge Altunbas Goktekin said the company targets to become a global company by achieving sustainable development in its operations and producing products with the highest quality.

“In line with this vision, our innovation-based studies will continue,” she added.

According to the company, its product range includes intraocular lenses, viscoelastic, and injector and cartridge systems.
