Assassin Creed Jade Beta Announced For August
Fans worldwide are invited to register for the Assassin Creed Jade beta, with it now scheduled to run for eight days in early August.
While the next major Assassin’s Creed game – Assassin’s Creed Mirage – isn’t out until October, anyone desperate for some assassin action before then will want to register for the Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade beta.
Registration for the beta opened last month following a brief cinematic trailer at the Ubisoft Forward showcase, but Ubisoft has now provided an exact window for when said beta will run.
Only 5,000 slots are available but if you manage to get in, you can try the upcoming mobile title from August 3 to August 11.
As a reminder, Assassin’s Creed Jade is set in Ancient China and is described as an open world roleplaying game. So, while Assassin’s Creed Mirage is harkening back to the original games, Jade sounds like it’ll be similar to the more modern entries like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Ubisoft’s website doesn’t list any gameplay details but does mention that you will need to fill out a questionnaire beforehand.
This period lasts from today until July 27, which is when the invitation period starts. That will run until July 31 so if you haven’t received an invite by then, you haven’t made it in.
While the test is eligible to players worldwide, it must be noted that the servers are based in North America and Europe, with the beta itself featuring English text and voiceover. There’s no mention of any support for other languages.
It’s unclear whether Ubisoft plans to publicly launch Assassin’s Creed Jade before or after Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, which is believed to be the next game after Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Even less is known about that one aside from it being another open world roleplaying game and its Feudal Japan setting. However, Ubisoft appeared to accidentally give away its intention of having it launch in 2024.
On top of all that, Ubisoft is rumoured to be remaking Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag although work on that has apparently just started.
Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade will launch for iOS and Android.
