Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 How to Get Captain Price for Blackout

Captain Price is arguably the most iconic character in the Call of  franchise, which makes it a no-brainer for him to be a lead character in the trailers for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. However, players that are looking to spend a little time with Price before Modern Warfare releases this Fall can now do so in Black 4‘s Blackout mode.

To unlock Price, players will simply have to pre-order Modern Warfare. Doing so will grant the classic look of Captain Price for use in Black Ops 4 Blackout, as he was seen in the original Modern Warfare games. Players on PlayStation that have pre-ordered Modern Warfare should have access to him now, while other platforms will be receiving him at a later date. Activision didn’t go so far as to say which day that is, but it’ll likely be in about a month, which is how long it usually takes platform-exclusive content to work its way onto the other versions.

Digital pre-orders will receive the item automatically, though physical orders will have to redeem a code that comes from the retailer it was purchased at. Players that have already pre-ordered a physical copy before Price was announced should contact the retailer they bought it from to get their code.

There still isn’t a ton known about Modern Warfare, though newly-released gameplay footage of the new 2v2 Gunfight mode does look promising.  Developer Infinity Ward is promising an experience unlike any other Call of Duty game to date, which should excite fans that have become bored with the structure of the previous entries in the franchise. There won’t be much more information until the Multiplayer Reveal on August 1st, but at least that’s not too far away.

Unlocking Blackout characters can take some effort, so being able to so easily obtain Captain Price should be a bit refreshing for those that were already planning to pre-order Modern Warfare. It is a bit disappointing that the character is locked behind a paywall, but it’s always possible that another way to unlock the character will be introduced at some point in the future.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available now for Xbox One, PS4, and PC
