Games Inbox: Video game spoilers, Cyberpunk 2077 footage, and Shenmue remaster anticipation | Gaming
Do you plan to review Bloodstained: Curse Of The Moon, GC? I’ve just completed this paean to the NES Castlevania games, and I have say, I felt it had no right to be as good as it was, considering it’s an appendage of a Kickstarter game that has yet to be released. It’s quite the resounding success if you ask me.
I thought controls, music, visuals, enemy, and level design were of a very good quality. The bosses in particular were exceptionally designed (if a little too easy for a Castlevania game for me, the last boss was challenging though), I was genuinely impressed with the imagination and creativity in the character/monster art design and their attack patterns.
The character swapping feature was also a nice idea that enlarged the scope for strategy, and the branching routes in the levels have certainly increased the replay value for me. If this is any indication of how good Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night is going to be then I’m most optimistic for Koji Igarashi upcoming whip ’em-up!
PS: Inbox magic for the sublime Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night (how I love that title!) to come out on the Switch – still the best Castlevania game to me!
GC: It’s too obscure for us to spend time reviewing. We’re not even sure there’s a way to get it if you’re not a backer?
