Genshin Impact add way to replay limited time Events
Genshin Impact fans may be able to look forward to the ability to replay limited time events in the future. A recent interview has shed some light on how HoYoverse feels about the subject and what it will do if it becomes a reality.
Genshin Impact, like many online titles these days, often offers limited time events in-game. These events may coincide with real-world holidays or seasons, or may be entirely unique to the game and its world. In any case, if fans miss one of these events or hadn’t joined in time to play them, they haven’t had the chance to revisit them.
In a recent interview with IGN, a Genshin Impact spokesperson discussed the limited time events and shared the development team’s thoughts. The team is aware of the fact that fans are unhappy that they can’t revisit limited time events or the stories that they featured, especially for those who joined the game too late to experience them. These feelings will likely only intensify once Genshin Impact finally comes to Nintendo Switch, as many players will be picking it up for the first time, and the game has already been out on other platforms for two years.
While the team isn’t guaranteeing anything will change in the future, it does note that if it creates a way to either replay the events or at least watch their stories, there will likely be some changes made. They said that they “want to show players how the world of Teyvat and each character have changed over time outside of the main storyline. Therefore, even if events return… there will be changes to the characters, stories, and gameplay of relevance.”
This is a bit of an interesting take on the problem, as many games simply let players replay events, even if the story has progressed far beyond that point in the normal game. Players usually just have to acknowledge the fact that time has passed since the events originally transpired, and characters may look or behave differently as a result. It’s not clear what exactly the team would want to change if these limited time Genshin Impact events come back, but it sounds like even those who have played the events in the past might want to revisit them to see what’s changed.
For now, Genshin Impact fans should plan on playing every event that interests them while it’s happening. Even if events do come back, it may take a while to cycle through them, or the team may not bring back all of them. Watching the gameplay and story via video uploads from other players is always an option, but it’s not the same thing as playing it for one’s self. With some luck, it won’t be long before old events make a comeback.
Genshin Impact is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5 with a Switch version in development.
