Ghost of Tsushima ‘Shrine’ Features a Ton of PlayStation Easter Eggs
Ghost of Tsushima is one of the year’s best games. The game that is based loosely on real historical events about the Samurai vs. the Mongols has captivated PlayStation gamers since its launch. And as fans continue to dive into the game, many have found some super cool easter eggs dedicated to PlayStation titles.
There are so many cool easter eggs in gaming, and finding the secrets that have been planted by the developers themselves is always neat. In Ghost of Tsushima, one area has a dozen hints pointing to other beloved games.
While discovering the world in Ghost of Tsushima, fans quickly noticed a shrine that has items that seem a bit out of place for 1274 Japan. On the desk, in a shrine, there are items that point to games like Grand Turismo, Shadow of Colossus, and even Ratchet and Clank.
The items look sort of like origami, but with closer inspection the easter egg presents itself. There is a car that belongs in Gran Turismo, and a Tallneck machine from Horizon Zero Dawn. Ratchet is one of the easier items to notice from Ratchet and Clank. A Days Gone bike is in the mix. The gorgeous and amazing colossus from Shadow of the Colossus is on the desk. An Axe from God of War, Ellie’s guitar from the Last of Us, and even a baseball bat from MLB The Show are just some of the surprises all bundled together.
Some easter eggs take years to find, like the infamous Batman: Arkham Asylum secret that would have told players all about Batman: Arkham City way before the announcement if they had just found it. Other easter eggs are meant to be found, sort of like the kiddie version of an easter egg hunt where tons of them are spread about the grass. In the case of this Ghost of Tsushima bit, it doesn’t seem like the developer tried too hard to hide it, but perhaps that’s because it was proud to show support of its fellow PlayStation devs.
Ghost of Tsushima is a gorgeous open-world adventure game. Along with fun gameplay and a captivating historical story, just roaming about the beautiful island of Tsushima is breathtaking. It’s super neat that with that exploration, fans have uncovered a pretty awesome easter egg. Perhaps even more are hiding out there.
Ghost of Tsushima is out now on PS4.
