Metroid Prime 4 Gameplay Reveal Coming at The Game Awards 2018? | Gaming News

Nintendo officially announced Metroid Prime 4 for the Nintendo Switch all the way back at E3 2017. With a vague teaser trailer that only included the game’s logo and didn’t hint at its story or gameplay features, fans have been left to speculate ever since. But, could more information about the game be revealed in the very near feature?
That’s the question that many Metroid Prime 4 fans are asking themselves after seeing a tweet by games journalist and The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley. Earlier today, Keighley posted a photo of himself standing alongside celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck and Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime. The tweet just said “See you in December!” alluding to The Game Awards 2018 which takes place on December 6, 2018.
However, the reference to this year’s Game Awards presentation isn’t the only thing that got fans talking about what possible announcements Nintendo may have in store. Look closely at Fils-Aime’s t-shirt, and fans will spot the familiar logo of the Metroid franchise. Video game developers and publishers are no stranger to teasing upcoming announcements through the medium of a logo t-shirt. So, could Reggie Fils-Aime be using his threads to hint at a Metroid Prime 4 gameplay reveal for The Game Awards 2018?

While Metroid Prime 4 was announced at E3 2017, it has been almost radio silence ever since. The game was a no-show at E3 2018, with fans voicing their disappointment that Nintendo had nothing to show for the game during the major industry event.
By the time The Game Awards 2018 rolls around, it will have been almost 18 months since Metroid Prime 4 was first unveiled. Not only that, but also many other massive Nintendo Switch exclusives will have been released by then (including Pokemon Let’s Go and Super Mario Party), so announcing it at The Game Awards 2018 could be a good way for the company to get fans even more excited for the next wave of titles.
It should be noted that according to a Nintendo’s earnings document, the Metroid Prime 4 release date could still be years away. But this would only give the company greater reason to show off gameplay at The Game Awards 2018. It would whet fans’ appetites and give them something to chew on (and speculate over) until closer to the game’s release date, or until the next Nintendo Direct presentation. So, while nothing is confirmed for now, plenty of people will have their fingers crossed.
Metroid Prime 4 is in development exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
