Monster Hunter: World Hits PC August 9 | Gaming

After dropping on consoles – to great success – earlier this year, Capcom’s monster-chasing simulator will come to PC very, very soon.

The publisher announced that Monster Hunter: World would be hitting PC on August 9. The company announced the minimum and recommended specs as well, but before that, here’s the new trailer.

Capcom’s recommended requirements are relatively low: they’re only asking for a i3-8350 Intel CPU or a Ryzen 5 1500X, both of which are fairly low in the CPU stakes. The requirement of a RX 570X or a GTX 1060 is a little higher, but anyone who’s bought either GPU will probably have a slightly better CPU to match (an i5-series chip, or a Ryzen 1600X and above).

RECOMMENDED

CPU: Intel® Core™ i3 8350 4GHz or Intel® Core™ i7 3770 3.4GHz or AMD Ryzen™ 5 1500X
Memory: 8 GB RAM
GPU: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 (VRAM 3GB) or AMD Radeon™ RX 570X (VRAM 4GB)
Network: Broadband internet connection
Storage: 20 GB available space

Capcom also released some screenshots showing off the range of graphics settings, which includes a 60 FPS lock (but an unlocked frame rate was not displayed, which would bug those with 120/144Hz displays) and a wealth of toggleable effects, such as subsurface scattering, diffusion quality, LOD level bias, volume rendering quality, foliage sway, z-prepass, and more.
