Resident Evil 4 remake half price on PS5 as total sales hit 8 million copies

The PlayStation Store has a Halloween sale including Alien Isolation and The Quarry, as well as 50% off Resident Evil 4 remake.

While there are plenty of new games out this month to mark the Halloween season, Sony has also slashed the prices of some old horror titles for the occasion.

In the latest PlayStation Store sale, Resident Evil 4 is the big headliner, at the low price of £17.49 on PlayStation 4 and 5 – which is a 50% discount. As noted in our review, it’s a remake that is well worth the trip whether you’re familiar with the original or not.

Coincidentally, Capcom announced today that Resident Evil 4 has surpassed eight million copies sold worldwide, so expect plenty more Resident Evil remakes in the future.

Other horror sale highlights include narrative adventure The Quarry, which is 87% off at £8.44 and a good recommendation if you liked Until Dawn. Subnautica is a survival game set underwater, which is down to £14.99, while Alien Isolation is down to £7.49 if you want to get excited for the sequel.

If you’re after scares with friends online, the never-ending juggernaut Dead By Daylight has been reduced to £9.99. This year’s The Outlast Trials, which is even more intense as a co-op survival horror experience, is also down to £20.79.

The sale, which spans over 1,000 games, encompasses plenty of other titles beyond horror. Dragon’s Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition, which includes additional items, is down 42% to £40.59 (oddly the standard edition isn’t in the sale), while the surprisingly great RoboCop: Rogue City has also seen a price cut.
