Spider-Man Comic-Con Trailer Sets Up the Story, Unveils Silver Sable | Gaming
Spider-Man is going to have a heaping helping of trouble on his plate in Insomniac’s new game. Not only is a sizable portion of his rogues gallery cooking up a nasty plot, but he’s also got the usual street toughs and a brand new enemy type to deal with. And now, thanks to the newest trailer released at San Diego Comic Con, we know that everyone’s favorite web head has the city going after him as well. Being everyone’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man has never been harder.
As seen in the trailer below, election season is fast approaching in Spider-Man’s version of New York, and Mayor Norman Osborne is ready to take extreme measures to help his bid for re-election. The city has gotten out of control and he’s not going to stand for it anymore. He sets a plan in motion that will hopefully put a stop to the chaos and those perpetrating it, Spider-Man included.
As seen in the trailer above, not only does Spider-Man need to put an end to the plans of all his nemeses, he’s going to have to do it while avoiding Silver Sable and her mercenaries. At least he won’t have to worry about Venom catching him by surprise. There appears to be a bit more going on here than first meets the eye though.
Peter Parker can be heard warning Mary Jane that the danger around her will only grow as she ventures closer to a certain group or organization. A few moments later, she’s seen eavesdropping on a conversation between Norman Osborne and Silver Sable. Something here isn’t on the up and up, and it seems players will be following Mary Jane as she tries to uncover what exactly is going on.
With Spider-Man’s list of foes, hurdles, and obstacles seemingly growing by the day, one can’t help but wonder how three teenagers are going to save New York all on their own. The web-head might get some help in the form of a few other heroes hinted at during E3, but it’s likely that they’re on their own here. Hopefully, they’re up to the task, because the consequences will be dire if that’s not the case.
Spider-Man releases on September 7, 2018 exclusively for PlayStation 4
