The Division 2 Sets Record Beta Signups | Gaming

At E3 earlier this year, Ubisoft announced a new Tom Clancy game titled The Division 2, which is set to release in March of next year. After the reveal at E3, more and more details surrounding the highly anticipated game, including a beta, have been announced, and fans were able to start signing up for the beta soon after. During Ubisoft’s financial conference call hosted very recently, Chief Executive Officer, Yives Guillemot, talked about the performance of The Division 2‘s beta.

According to Guillemot, The Division 2 was the fastest-registering beta in Ubisoft history, with over four times the registrants of the original game in 2015, which was the previous record-holder. This statistic is huge considering the fact that The Division 2 beta only went live a month ago after the game reveal at E3 in June. Of course, signing up for the beta does not guarantee beta access, but it is a relatively good indication of player interest in the game. Furthermore, Ubisoft has not confirmed specifically how invites to the beta will work, but signing up is a free and easy process, so fans wanting to get early access to the game can take advantage of it.

Ubisoft has also not confirmed any specifics about The Division 2 beta, but by looking at the beta for the original, we can speculate about what it will entail. The original beta featured a gameplay segment close to the start of the game, and featured a handful of story missions with the ability to play in four player co-op. It also featured The Dark Zone, The Division‘s take on a player-versus-player gameplay. Depending on what Ubisoft has in store for the beta, The Division 2‘s beta might be similar.

The Division 2 is one of the most highly-anticipated games of next year, and Ubisoft has already revealed a lot of details about the game such as raids, microtransactions, shield goals, and even a 1:1 Washington DC map. We look forward to finding out more about the game, and based on the support that the beta has received so far, it is clear that it may just be one of the biggest releases in 2019.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is currently scheduled to launch on March 25, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
