The Walking Dead Releases Teaser Trailer for Final Season | Gaming News
Very little information has been made available about Telltale’s upcoming episodic adventure, The Walking Dead: The Final Season, but at Comic-Con, the developer revealed a new teaser trailer for the game. Whereas the previous trailer focused on the relationship between Clementine and AJ, this trailer seemingly puts the focus on other characters that will be met in the game.
Clocking in at 47 seconds, this new teaser for The Walking Dead: The Final Season is short and sweet but delivers a dark promise, as an unknown character tells Clementine, the playable character and series’ protagonist, that she is in danger. Although new characters are shown and Clementine promised sanctuary, dark shadows are cast as Clem tells AJ that people change.
Of course, the shadow over Clem’s life is already quite large, and it doesn’t seem like she survives the season. Although she is a fan-favorite and many would like to see her live, the chances are just not in her favor. Check out the new teaser trailer below:
One thing this teaser fails to show is whether the Garcias, depending on how A New Frontier ends, will be returning or how the Clementine that emerges from that season changes depending on the decisions involved. Even if the Garcias find closure in this season, it’s likely to be minor compared to the relationship between Clementine and AJ, which is highly reminiscent of the relationship between Clem and Lee.
Whether it ends in the same way (which we consider to be one of the most emotional endings in gaming) remains to be seen, but the investment players have in Clem should make for some gutwrenching story moments. Tell us, Ranters, how do you see the final season ending Clementine’s story?
Telltale’s first episode of The Walking Dead: The Final Season is set to launch on August 14, 2018, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and late 2018 for the Nintendo Switch.
