When does Fortnite season 5 start?
Epic Games confirmed the start date for season 5 in a reddit post that was submitted last week.
Season 5 will begin on July 12th at 4 AM EDT (09:00 BST).
It was also revealed that the end date for season 4 has been extended by two days and it will instead finish on Wednesday 11th July, giving players more time to complete their Battle Pass and progress through the tiers.
You can view the exact countdown for the end of season four within the in-game Battle Pass menu.
What to expect from season 5 and what will the theme be?
As usual Epic Games has stayed very secretive about what players can expect from the new season of Fortnite.
Much like the build-up to the season 4 meteor strike, developers have been slowly revealing small clues of what we can expect.
The main one is the rocket launch that happened last week and led to the opening of various wormholes.

They have already absorbed some small parts of the map and some fans believe that it could see a big makeover of various parts of the game.
Players can expect another new Battle Pass to be available to players, with the opportunity to unlock plenty of new cosmetic items.
The theme hasn’t been revealed yet but that hasn’t stopped fans from guessing what we could expect.
A popular theory is that it could involve time travel because of the recent wormholes that have been appearing, or alternatively it could just lead to some sort of ancient history theme.
This could introduce various skin possibilities such as the Romans, ancient Egyptians, ancient Greece or references to various other big time periods in human history.
