Xbox Game Pass Adding The Witcher 3 and More Big Games This Week
One of the biggest innovations Microsoft has introduced this past decade is the Xbox Game Pass service. For a monthly fee, Xbox Game Pass subscribers have access to over 100 games at any given time, ranging from triple-A blockbusters to lesser-known indie titles. Xbox Game Pass is consistently updated with new games for subscribers to try out, with four new games coming to the service this week.
The first new game coming to Xbox Game Pass was previously revealed at The Game Awards 2019, where it was nominated for some awards. Untitled Goose Game is one of the most notable indie games to come out this year, and Xbox Game Pass subscribers can try it at no additional charge starting today. Those interested in the other Xbox Game Pass titles that are coming to the service this week will have to wait a little bit longer, though.
Beginning December 19, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can try The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Pillars of Eternity, and Life is Strange 2: Episode 5. All three are well-received games and big gets for the Xbox Game Pass service, though The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the clear headliner of the bunch.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the highest-rated video games on the Xbox One, with both it and its expansions earning a great deal of critical acclaim. The upcoming release of The Witcher Netflix series may make some fans even more interested in trying out Wild Hunt, so its addition to the Xbox Game Pass service arguably couldn’t have come at a better time.
This new batch of Xbox Game Pass games join previous titles that have already been added to the service in December. The other Xbox Game Pass December 2019 games include the likes of My Friend Pedro, Age of Wonders: Planetfall, and Metro: Last Light Redux. Fans can expect Microsoft to keep adding new games to the Xbox Game Pass service moving forward, with January expected to bring even more to the table.
Fortunately, Microsoft seems to add a lot more games to Xbox Game Pass than it removes them. Even so, titles are periodically removed from the Xbox Game Pass service, with four Game Pass games removed in December so far. We don’t know which titles will be next on the chopping block, but fans should have an advance warning.
