Instagram Is Testing Ephemeral Instagram Direct Text Messages
Instagram confirmed that it is testing yet another Snapchat-inspired feature: ephemeral Instagram Direct text messaging.
Blogger and developer Jane Manchun Wong shared a GIF roughly depicting how the feature works in a tweet.
The Facebook-owned photovideo-sharing network responded, “We’re always exploring new features to improve your messaging experience. This feature is still in early development and not testing externally just yet.”
Instagrammers have had the options of making photo and video messages “view once” or “allow replay” since November 2017 and February 2018, respectively.
