Instagram Reels video length has been expanded to 60 seconds, according to the company. Previously, viewers could pick between 15-second and 30-second video length limits, but now a significantly greater time limit is also possible. Furthermore, Instagram is introducing new measures for teenage users by defaulting them to private accounts and making it more difficult for potentially suspicious accounts to discover young people on the platform. It will also send push reminders to current teenage users encouraging them to make their profiles private.

The social media platform announced the increase of video duration for Reels on Twitter. Instagram users will be able to create up to 60-second Reels hereafter. TikTok, Reels’ primary rival, recently increased its limit to 3 minutes to provide its creators with the ability to create significantly longer and more versatile content without compromising the platform’s fast-flipping nature.

Instagram rolls out new safety features for teens

stagram has also announced that it will be implementing new safety measures to make teenagers’ social media experiences safer. It automatically enrols new members under the age of 16 (18 in some countries) in private accounts. Only those who follow you can view your posts, Stories, and Reels if you have a private account. Random users are unable to comment on their content and it is not visible in sections like Explore and hashtag.
