Flickplay and The Sandbox Merging to Revolutionise Metaverse

Gaming enterprise The Sandbox and Flickplay on Monday announced a new deal that will let users employ assets on blockchain in their platforms, thereby taking a step in metaverse creation.

Metaverse is where people can roam freely across virtual universes on multiple platforms and flaunt their virtual clothes and other accessories; this is known as interoperability.

Although such a concept will still take years to materialize and will require cooperation by developers on metaverse and companies like Facebook, Epic Games and Microsoft.

Flickplay app lets users acquire online collectables by making use of an intuitive map of their real environment. The app then lets users project the collectable in the real world to make content with their interactions.

Flicky, the first of the line NFTs by Flickplay, consists of a humanoid chameleon sporting stylish clothes. Selected users who collect Flicky can transfer the NFT as their online avatar on the 3D world-building game Sandbox.

Pierina Merino, the CEO and founder of Flickplay says that with future iterations, users will be not only able to use the chameleon avatar but also make the exact copy of virtual assets on the blockchain. She further adds that both Sandbox and Flickplay are working together to achieve interoperability within the next few months.

Sebastien Borget views this interoperability to be especially important as this would be the first of its kind to give a virtual NFT real-world applications. He also hopes that “create a more immersive experience that extends into the metaverse and The Sandbox”.
