MCMC seeking public feedback on Malaysian ‘National Super App’

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission () is inviting public on the development of a National Mobile Application or super app.

MCMC in a statement today (Sept 17) said the National Mobile Application is being planned by the government as a one-stop centre for users to access online services from both the digital government and selected private sectors.

It explained that the app would potentially allow the public to pay bills, settle traffic summonses, renew driving licences and road tax, book a doctor’s appointment, access e-healthcare services, and register births and marriages online, among others.

An online survey is being conducted by MCMC from now till Oct 6 to help introduce the concept of the National Mobile Application and scenarios of its potential uses in Malaysia, explore views on its potential adoption, identify factors that might influence the public’s decision to use a national mobile application, and assess further improvements on the delivery of government services through the app.

The survey will ask respondents questions such as what might motivate them to use the National Mobile Application, what their concerns may be about using such an app and how they feel about the idea of paying service charges for transactions performed through the app.

Survey participants will also be asked if they would be interested in naming the National Mobile Application, as the person who comes up with the chosen name will receive a voucher worth RM2,000 as a token of appreciation.
