Fallen Legion Revenants Announced for PS4 and Nintendo Switch

Today’s New Game Plus Expo revealed a number of titles, including Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 from Castlevania developer Koji Igarashi. Another game with a somewhat similar aesthetic to Castlevania titles like Symphony of the Night but with vastly different gameplay was Fallen Legion Revenants, releasing on PlayStation 4 and in 2021.

The game is a sidescrolling real-time action RPG in a world full of “monsters and miasma” that will follow two protagonists attempting to free humanity from the subjugation of a mad ruler living in Welkin Castle, a fortification floating in the sky. Players will need to consciously split time between Lucien, a politician who can summon heroes from a bygone age, and Rowena, a spirit who leads those heroes into the world hoping to purify its corruption.

Revenants is the third game in the Fallen Legion series, following Sins of an Empire and Flames of Rebellion both released for in 2017, and then bundled into a collection called Fallen Legion: Rise to Glory on Switch in 2018. The upcoming title is being published by NIS America, which also revealed the western release date for Trails of Cold Steel 4 coming to PS4 on October 27, 2020.

Those who feel they may be interested in Fallen Legion Revenants can pre-order the Vanguard Edition for Switch, including an art book and digital soundtrack, at the game’s website. A new trailer for Atlus’ Catherine: Full Body, which will be coming to Switch soon, was also debuted at the New Game Plus Expo.

Fallen Legion Revenants will be available for PlayStation 4 and Switch sometime in 2021.
