Bethesda’s latest and perhaps most ambitious title, 76, will have its Beta testing open at the end of October, and that have access to the Beta will be able to play the full game in order to help Bethesda identify any major problems in the game before its release in November. After confirming the Beta dates very recently, the official Fallout 76 FAQ’s were also updated, and it reveals the download size as well as other information regarding the Beta.

According to the Fallout 76 FAQ’s, the download size for the online Beta is approximately 45GB and at the moment, it will unfortunately not be available for pre-download, but the wording on the site suggests that could change in the future. The FAQ also confirms that there are no PC requirements listed for the game yet, as Bethesda is “still working on compatibility testing and will share minimum and recommended PC specs”.

Finally, there will be no NDA on the Beta and Bethesda is actually encouraging fans to share footage. Bethesda says: “We encourage you to share your experience! Beginning on October 23 on Xbox One, and October 30 on PlayStation 4 and PC, anyone in the B.E.T.A. can freely stream, post screenshots, create content, and share their feedback with us. [Only] anything posted prior to the official B.E.T.A. is in violation of an NDA.”

The Fallout 76 Beta is only open to players who have pre-ordered the game. Bethesda suggested earlier that players will be able to access the full game during Beta testing, and that any progress made during the Beta will be carried over to the full game after its launch. Some were skeptical about this at first, but the big size of the Beta download does indicate that it might just include the entire game. Either way, Beta access holders sure have a lot to look forward to as the open date for the Beta draws closer.
