Fortnite leak reveals Chapter 6 theme but something is missing
Fortnite has staged practically every crossover you could imagine in the time since it launched in 2017, between Marvel, Star Wars, Billie Eilish, and even screenings of Christopher Nolan movies.
These crossovers have been scattered within yearly chapters made up of a set amount of seasons. Fortnite is currently in the fifth season of chapter five, which is set to conclude on December 1, 2024.
While Epic Games has not announced what’s in store following that date, it’s widely expected to be the start of chapter six (rather than season six). Now, thanks to a bunch of Fortnite dataminers, we know what the them is going to be.
Was Fortnite Chapter Six an Assassin Creed Shadows crossover?
As revealed by noted Fortnite leakers ShiinaBR and Loolo_WRLD, chapter six season one will have a traditional Japanese theme, in terms of samurai culture and Japanese mythology.
According to fellow Fortnite leaker Wensoing on X, formerly Twitter, the map’s biomes are listed as Shrine, Rivers, Plains, Farmland, and Forest.
While there’s no details on the specific crossovers to mark the Japanese theme, considering Assassin’s Creed Shadows was originally set to launch in November, before it was delayed to February next year, that was no doubt the original plan.
Playable character Naoe, a female shinobi, and African samurai Yasuke are almost certain to make an appearance in Fortnite, the only question now is whether they do so next month or in February.
The theme has already led to speculation of crossovers with anime shows, including Demon Slayer and the previously rumoured collaboration with One Piece.
Alongside the new theme, Fortnite leaker Egyptian_Leaker has unearthed details of various game modes on the horizon. These include a mini-battle royale mode with a maximum of 50 players and only Solo available, plus a 5v5 core mode codenamed ‘Feral’.
Other leaked modes include iterations on Lego Fortnite, with one revolving around specific jobs like being an auditor and accountant, along with an unknown mode codenamed ‘Rivalry’.
There’s also a reference to an open world mode codenamed ‘Arnold’ which the leaker claims might have been scrapped, as it’s said to have been in development for over two years and was last mentioned in the game’s files around six months ago.
It’s unclear whether these modes are planned for the current season, chapter six or for something else in the far future, but it’s likely they could appear sooner rather than later if this evidence is popping up in current files.
