Fortnite OG to return next month with all old school seasons claim rumours

After bringing back ‘s debut chapter for a limited time last year, Epic Games might be making it a permanent fixture.

It’s been seven years since Fortnite launched in 2017 and with so many new modes and map changes since, there’s now nostalgia for the way it used to be.

Epic Games has capitalised on this thirst with various limited time events. Last year saw the return of original locations and loot from chapter one in Fortnite OG, while Chapter Two Remix launched just last week and works in a similar way.

Fortnite OG’s popularity even took Epic Games by surprise, with the developer tweeting that it would ‘like to bring it back’ in some capacity after it ‘far exceeded our expectations’. Now, it seems like Epic is planning to do exactly that.

According to renowned Fortnite leaker’s ShiinaBR and HYPEX, who have verified ‘most’ of the information from an anonymous source, Fortnite Chapter One will return on a permanent basis in December, with previous set to rotate monthly.

This version of Fortnite OG will only have the game’s original loot and weapons, and will be available in both the regular build mode and Zero Build, which was first introduced in 2022.

ShiinaBR claims this Fortnite OG iteration will be entirely separate to Chapter Six, which is set to begin on December 1, 2024. As such, it sounds like this will be a separate mode within the Fortnite hub, in the same vein as Fortnite Reload.

Fortnite nostalgia is making a comeback (X)

According to HYPEX, Epic will announce the return of Fortnite OG either at the conclusion of Chapter 2 Remix on November 30, or at The Game Awards on December 12.

Fortnite leakers are almost always accurate and considering Epic Games has teased the mode’s return in the past, this looks practically locked in.

As for what’s in store in Chapter Six, the same leakers have recently outed the first season’s theme – which might be connected to Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
