Modern Warfare November Update is Breaking Laser Sights, Weapon XP

Infinity Ward finally released the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare , which has added fan favorite mode Gun Game and a proper Spec Ops mission. However, the new update is also causing some big problems with the game, as fans have started reporting a number of new issues that have cropped up since downloading it.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare subreddit is full of people pointing out new bugs and glitches since downloading the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update 1.09. It’s unclear just how widespread these problems are, but they do seem to be impacting a decent number of Modern Warfare players. It appears the new update has broken the laser sight on a number of weapons, including the already-bugged P90, in addition to other issues.

Some of the other issues with the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update that have been reported by fans include a weapon XP bug that makes it so weapons no longer level up, a glitch where players fall through the Spec Ops mission map, increased lag, and not all the thermal scopes being able to see through smoke. Some users have reported increased lag and generally poorer performance after downloading the update as well.

Again, we must stress that it’s unclear at this point just how widespread these issues are, so mileage may vary. Infinity Ward has yet to comment on the new bugs and technical issues that have been reported by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players, so it’s hard to gauge the scope of the problems.

In the meantime, some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players have taken issue with the new update because they feel it doesn’t address some of the bigger complaints about the game. For example, it makes no mention of the controversial Skill Based Matchmaking system that’s supposedly in place, and it also doesn’t add fan-requested features like map voting. It’s clear that some players are disappointed by the new Modern Warfare update, though others will be satisfied by Gun Game and the chance to try out the new Spec Ops content.

Infinity Ward has otherwise been quick to fix issues with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, so fans should be able to expect a new patch to address this one’s problems sooner rather than later.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
