New Devil May Cry Game Releasing in January 2024
Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat, a mobile spin-off game that was previously only available in China, has finally received a global launch date. Those who pre-register for the localized gacha title have a chance to win some goodies as part of the celebration for its upcoming worldwide release.
Launched for Android systems in the Chinese market back in June 2021, Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat offered fans of Capcom’s beloved hack and slash action series a licensed mobile RPG that contained several elements from the franchise’s games, particularly Devil May Cry 3 and Devil May Cry 4. The global version’s store listing on the Apple App Store indicated that it was scheduled to be released on December 2 of this year, but that plan seems to have been scrapped.
In a December 5 stream, Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat developer NebulaJoy revealed that the game’s global version will launch on January 10, 2024. To celebrate the upcoming release, people who participate in Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat’s social media campaign have the chance to win $10 Amazon gift cards. To join, those interested must follow an official Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat social media page like the ones on Facebook or Twitter. They must then like a campaign post, share it, and leave a comment talking about their most anticipated feature in the game.
Meanwhile, those who pre-registered will receive in-game rewards that will vary depending on the number of people who ultimately sign up. Currently, each person who pre-registered for Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat will get 50,000 Red Orbs, 50 Demonic Potions, and 200 Gems. Every player, also known as a hunter in the game, will receive an additional 1,000 Gems and 10 Hidden Record Seals once the mobile title hits 2 million and 5 million pre-registrations, respectively. Additionally, the game will reward all hunters with 10 Secret Treasure Seals if Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat’s social media accounts reach a total of 1 million combined followers.
The global version of Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat, which was announced in 2021, could have been delayed to give NebulaJoy more time to polish the iOS and Android-bound localization. During the December 5 stream, the developer revealed that Capcom had high expectations when it came to NebulaJoy maintaining consistency with the materials from the mainline Devil May Cry games that were used as sources. NebulaJoy also mentioned the need to put out continual adjustments and optimizations to its gacha game.
The Devil May Cry franchise centers around third-person, horror-inspired, action-adventure gameplay. Developed by Capcom, Devil May Cry spans multiple entries and focuses on the exploits of central protagonist, Dante, who must battle all manners of monsters.
