Super Mario Bros. Wonder Has Target-Exclusive Collectible
As excitement builds for the upcoming release of Super mario bros. Wonder, many global retailers, including the US-based store Target, are announcing store-exclusive bonuses and collectibles. Wonder will be the first new 2D side-scrolling Mario game in over a decade, so retailers are taking advantage and offering fans even more merchandise from the beloved franchise.
First announced during a Nintendo Direct in June of this year, Super Mario Bros. Wonder came as a welcome surprise to fans and gamers everywhere. The Mushroom Kingdom has become a nostalgic home-away-from-home for close to 40 years, and fans can look forward to bringing home even more of the world of Mario with upcoming exclusive collectibles.
A limited edition Super Mario Bros. Wonder shadowbox is being offered by US retailer Target with all in-store purchases of the game. Retailing at $59.99, all copies of the game purchased in-store at a Target retail location will be eligible for the free exclusive collectible, though the official ad notes limited quantities and no rain checks. This means any fans wishing to add the shadowbox to their collection will need to purchase the game and collect the exclusive box in-person before the unique item sells out. Shadowboxes have grown in popularity for their artistic 2D-3D displays that make for an eye-catching addition to fandom collections and room decor. The Target-exclusive Super Mario Bros. Wonder shadowbox features a horizontal version of the game's cover artwork and will soon be available to Super Mario Bros. fans in the United States.
Other Super Mario Bros. Wonder pre-order offers have received incredibly positive feedback from Mario fans everywhere, with physical pre-orders even trending at #1 on multinational conglomerate site Amazon. Offers from outlets such as GameStop and Walmart feature other unique exclusives such as sticker sets and trading cards, respectively. With Target's reveal of yet another limited-edition collectible, fans will have plenty of options to choose from when securing their copy of the game.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder will be the first major 2D Mario game since New Super Mario Bros. U launched on the Wii U back in 2012. So it should come as no surprise that Nintendo is going all out with promotions and collectibles for this legendary and influential series. Fans have long adored the iconic characters and worlds of the Super Mario Bros. franchise, and with store-exclusives and game details in abundance, excitement for this new release is undeniably palpable.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder releases October 20th exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
