The Division 2 Teasing NYC DLC sends players back to New York City

Without a doubt, myriad players have been diving into all that Tom Clancy’s The 2‘s base content has to offer ever since it officially launched to the public a little more than a couple of weeks ago. Of course, while gamers continue to explore

The Division 2‘s Washington D.C. setting, some are beginning to turn their attention toward the third-person shooter’s post-launch plans. Speaking of which, it looks as if there could be a possibility of the development team teasing future DLC that players back to New York City.

Thanks to a find from the Redditor and The Division 2 player known as “WillyPete”, a certain poster can be found in-game that reads “NYC After Dark” in big, bold letters, followed by a smaller section stating, “a return to the Big Apple January”. Bearing this in mind, it definitely appears as if The Division 2 publisher Ubisoft and developer Massive Entertainment intended for fans to find this particular slice of content and put the pieces together that NYC-related DLC of some kind is coming in January 2019.

Prior to the game’s launch, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment had revealed that The Division 2‘s Year One updates would be issued to players by way of three individual “episodes” of content. The names and locations of the first two are D.C. Outskirts: Expeditions and Pentagon: The Last Castle, respectively, but the third one slated for a winter release window still remains unnamed. With this being the case, many are speculating that NYC: After Dark will be the last installation of Year One DLC, and will drop in January 2019.

For those unaware, New York City is the setting for The Division 1, and The Division 2 takes place several months after the events of the first game, bringing players to the US capital. So, it would be interesting to see how Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment could be able to thread NYC-themed content into The Division 2. Should that indeed be what the companies are planning to do, then there’s the possibility that NYC: After Dark could be the location for another The Division 2 Dark Zone, or perhaps the setting for a new Survival Mode.

All things considered, we will simply have to wait and find out exactly what Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment’s plans are for the third piece of episodic DLC in The Division 2, and if it does connect to the NYC: After Dark adverts found within the game. Until then, it’s safe to presume that plenty of players will continue to gear up for the title’s first major installment of post-launch content, with The Division 2‘s World Tier 5 release date right around the corner.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
