World of Warcraft Shows Off Patch 10.1 Fyrakk Assaults World Event

World of Warcraft recently shared an official preview of the Assaults event coming in Patch 10.1, Embers of Neltharion. This new World of Warcraft outdoor activity will add a new challenge to the game that will be nostalgic for players who remember Cataclysm.

Patch 10.1, Embers of Neltharion, is coming to World of Warcraft on May 2. This major content update adds the new Zaralek Cavern zone complete with an expanded story campaign, tons of new quests, cosmetics, and content to enjoy. Players will also be able to challenge Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible–a secret facility once used by Neltharion for his twisted experiments, and the second raid of Dragonflight.

One of the new features coming to Embers of Neltharion is the Fyrakk Assaults. The official World of Warcraft Twitter shared a short video showing off some of the action of the new world event. The Primal Incarnate Fyrakk appears in various locations across the Dragon Isles, choking the sky with volcanic ash and draconic minions. Familiar faces like Baine Bloodhoof fight alongside players as Fyrakk spews fiery death down upon them. The new overworld activity comes to World of Warcraft on May 9 alongside the opening of the Aberrus raid.

The post also talked about some of the rewards players can get during the Fyrakk Assaults. Players can earn high-quality new gear and armor appearances themed after the Black Dragonflight in World of Warcraft. This new equipment looks great and has competitive stats to help clear difficult content. Additionally, players can earn the Still Standing in the Fire achievement by dying to Fyrakk’s fiery assault–a callback to the Stood in the Fire achievement players got during Cataclysm for dying to Deathwing’s burning breath.

Many players are excited about the Fyrakk Assaults in Embers of Neltharion. The Primal Storms–the world event added in Dragonflight–is a fun and easily-grindable activity reminiscent of the popular Legion Assaults from the Broken Isles. The Fyrakk Assaults seem to be a continuation of that popular formula spearheaded by Dragonflight’s most incendiary Primal Incarnate.

Fyrakk and his siblings have gathered quite a strong group of fans since their introduction in Dragonflight. Recent artwork of the new World of Warcraft villains has caused players to lose their minds about how cool their designs and personalities are. Fyrakk, Iridikron, and Vyranoth aren’t going anywhere quite yet, so players can probably look forward to seeing more of them–possibly even in more world events–in the future of Dragonflight.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
