Borderlands 3 Fan With Terminal Cancer May Get to Play Early
Trevor Eastman, a huge Borderlands fan who has been diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal, stomach, and liver cancer and given only a year left to live, may have one of his dreams come true as 2K Games is said to be planning to fly out to him to ensure he is able to experience this new title.
As reported by DualShockers, Eastman posted on Reddit and explained his situation and how he isn’t sure if he will live to see the release of Borderlands 3 on September 13, 2019. He asked the Borderlands subreddit to help make his dream come true, and the community rallied behind him and amplified his wish.
It appears his wish was heard, as he posted a couple days ago that someone from 2K Games had reached out to him and they are going to make this happen. In his words, “they’re flying somebody out at the beginning of June most likely to give me a copy of the game.”
While the internet can be a terrible place, there are moments like this that really shine the light on how amazing a community can be and how people can band together for a common good cause.
We wish Eastman nothing but the best and hope soon that he will be enjoying the loot hunting madness of Borderlands 3 that we called a “tighter, better-put-together Borderlands 2.”
