Resident Evil 7 Mod Introduces Motion Controls and New Gameplay
The modder praydog has already done an impressive job in bringing the Resident Evil series to virtual reality. Now the modder is adding to its work with a new mod for motion controls in Resident Evil 7.
Recently, the developer unveiled its latest work on the Resident Evil 7 VR mod which introduced full support for motion controllers. In the video below, you can see some of the in-progress gameplay.
Resident Evil 7 VR Mod Now Has Motion Controllers
The praydog mod brought both Resident Evil 2 and 3 to virtual reality with two great mods that also feature functions like motion controller support. The modder’s work on a Resident Evil 8 mod also features motion controls.
However, unlike the other Resident Evil games that didn’t come with VR support, Resident Evil 7 was released on PS4 and with full support for the PSVR headset. However, an official PC VR port but this never came into being. However, that version of the game still used DualShock 4and head-based aiming. Adding motion controls is, therefore, a major improvement.
The mod isn’t refined yet but we can expect to see more in the near future. The current Resident Evil 2 VR mod has also seen some additional add-ons such as support for the more traditional movement by Ashok0 that you can find here.
Several days ago, Capcom confirmed that it was planning to bring Resident Evil 7 to the next generation of consoles later this year. This could see the introduction of the official support for the PSVR 2 headset when it is released. There are also rumors that Resident Evil 8 could also have VR support. If you factor in Armature’s Resident Evil 4 port to virtual reality, there is definitely broad VR support across many headsets for RE fans.
